JAKARTA – The government is reportedly going to enforce validation rules International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) on the mobile black market (BM) today. However, it seems that the plan has been delayed again, aka delayed from the set schedule.
Director of Electronics and Telematics Industry, Dini Hanggandari, through her secretary Rini, revealed that the IMEI number validation rules cannot be implemented today, even the schedule is not known for sure.
“It is still in process, and it is not yet known when (the implementation),” said Rini when contacted VOI, Monday 24 August.

In addition, the Head of the Ministry of Industry’s Data and Information Center Janu Suryanto stated that currently data from the IMEI imported Product Registration (TPP) has entered the production process into machinery. Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR).
“The Data and Information Center has deposited the IMEI TPP import and production data into the CIER machine,” said Janu to VOI.
Because previously, the Director of the Electronics and Telematics Industry of the Directorate General (ILMATE) of the Ministry of Industry, Achmad Rodjih, revealed that the CEIR machine was not ready for use, so it is only on August 24 that it is planned to be implemented.
